Vegetable Arisi Parupu Sadam/ Vegetable Rice Kichadi

Whenever I feel lazy or If I don't have much time to cook , My mind think to prepare kichadi for the meal. It is easy simple and not too spicy. You can mash the kichadi and feed your little ones. It will digest easily.
Ingredients:

Rice - 1 Cup
Split yellow moong dhal/ Paasi Paruppu- 1/4 cup
Toor dhal/Thuvaram Parupu - 1/4
Mustard - 1 teaspoon
Cumin seed - 1 teaspoon
Garlic cloves chopped - 3 teaspoon
Ginger chopped - 1 teaspoon
Medium sized Onion - 1
Carrot - 1 No
Beans - 10 Nos
Potato - 1 No
Salt to taste
Green chilli - 2 No
Asafoetida - 1/2 teaspoon
Ghee - 1 teaspoon
Oil - 1 teaspoon
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Preparation:
Soak the rice and dhal in water for half an hour.
Into a pressure cooker add a teaspoon of ghee and a teaspoon of oil.
Add the mustard seed and cumin. Once the mustard spluttered , add chopped ginger and garlic. Saute well.

5. And then add Onion and green chilli. Cook until onions are translucent.
6. Once the onions are sauted , add vegetable and turmeric powder. Cook until the raw smell goes.
7. Now add 5 cup of water(Ratio for Rice and water is 1 : 3). Keep the flame to high and bring the water to rolling boil.
8. Drain the water from soaked rice and dhal mix, Add it to the cooker. Close the pressure cooker and place the whistle and cook in medium flame for 3-4 whistles. Wait until the pressure goes off.

8. Now our vegetable kichadi is ready. Serve hot with pickle by it . Enjoy your meal.
